An axis-aligned box can include large empty regions around a diagonal component. An oriented representation can describe the component's direction more closely.

Fix the convention
Specify the coordinate system and angle convention used by the dataset and downstream tool. Equivalent-looking rectangles may have different numeric representations. A conversion error can rotate an otherwise correct annotation.
Preserve the task boundary
For a cutting-room concept, orientation information might support arrangement review. It does not establish fabric grain, nap direction or material identity unless those are separately represented and evaluated. Confirm what the system can observe before using its angle as a production instruction.
