An item dyed after sewing contains more than its main fabric. The thread and other included materials can respond differently to the intended process.
Coats' post-dyed garment guidance addresses sewing-thread selection in relation to dyeing. Coats — Sewing Post Dyed Garments.
Preserve input identity
For a post-dyed character textile, identify the actual thread and material combination before assessing the resulting colour. Do not infer compatibility merely because the undyed inputs look similar.

Compare after the relevant process
Review the finished assembly under the agreed appearance conditions. Record which inputs and process produced the evaluated result. A pre-process colour comparison answers a different question and should not silently replace evidence about the dyed construction.
