A fibre-form description can help explain how a textile input is constructed. It should not become a shortcut for declaring one material universally better.
Coats' textile-fibre guidance distinguishes staple fibres and continuous filaments. Coats — Know About Textile Fibres.
Identify the level described
For a material discussion, distinguish the fibre form from the finished yarn or fabric. A term applicable to an input does not fully describe the assembled product's surface, strength or handling.

Keep the comparison relevant
Ask which requirement the proposed material needs to satisfy and what evidence addresses it. Preserve the actual supplier reference. A broad form category helps organise technical information, while the suitability decision still depends on the specific material and application.
