A cut-fruit character depends on what happens inside its outline. Compare the centre, edge and face together. Two slices can share a rounded body yet tell quite different visual stories on a shop shelf.
Start at the centre
The avocado's coin accent creates a focal point that a plain fruit centre would not have. An apple slice offers another reference for the balance between pale flesh and its outer edge. For a citrus-led collection, a lemon slice gives you a third direction without adding an unrelated character family.

Make the comparison useful
Place the front photographs at the same displayed height. Cover the product names and ask a colleague to describe each shape. If the explanation depends entirely on the label, identify which feature needs a clearer photograph or a different place in the assortment. This is a selection exercise, not evidence of sales performance.

Keep the chosen reference beside the range plan. Confirm actual dimensions separately before using a photographed outline to plan shelf spacing.
