A large abrasion-cycle number can look impressive without explaining how it was obtained. Different methods and endpoints should not be merged into one universal durability scale.
ASTM lists multiple textile-abrasion methods using different apparatus and procedures. ASTM — Textile standards catalogue.

For a fabric comparison, retain the method, specimen and relevant endpoint with the reported result. Avoid ranking materials from isolated numbers copied out of different reports.

Connect to the use
Ask whether the selected method addresses the intended performance question. A laboratory cycle count is not automatically a service-life prediction for a finished character. Keep any product claim proportionate to the actual evidence and the conditions it covers.
